Sustainability
Sustainability is the balance of individuals, society and the planet doing well, all at the same time. It means leaving the planet a better place because you have lived well. Your measuring stick of success isn’t wealth, but how you’ve impacted the good of the planet so its a better place for all, for your children, and your children’s children.
It requires the success, profit and growth of society, economy and the environment; doing well, without robbing the future to do it.
If you do extremely well in the economy, you can easily destroy the environment. If you over-regulate for the environment, you can choke the economy. You want the economy to grow, but you don’t want to destroy the health of society. Industry, business, governance, health and wealth, nature and quality of life all must be balanced in symbiosis to where the current success you put into motion positions the following generations with greater success.

Green Mining – The Millennia Mining Way
Sustainability and environmental harmony are significant factors. While “green” initiatives have become fashionable across almost all industries, one might not expect a gold mine to be at the forefront of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
Green mining is defined as employing those technologies, best practices and mine processes that reduce the environmental impact associated with the extraction and processing of metals and minerals. Millennia Mining’s mining practices focus on non-toxic energy and chemicals, re-utilization of ore, and soil restoration, all while remaining competitive in the industry.
Building a Lasting Community
Utilization of the aggregate and barite, by products of placer mining that can be made into building materials, will enable the construction of durable permanent housing. This will allow mine workers and their families to reside near the site, therefore creating stability in the workforce. Not only does this reduce waste of natural resources, but it increases the quality of life of those working at or near the mining sites. Through the creation of a more stable workforce, mining operations can expand and build upon collaborative efforts, retaining the talents, expertise and knowledge base of skilled workers.
